autumn is (nearly) here…

and the show season is beginning again! I realize that I’ve been absolutely horrible at keeping this current over the summer and resolve to be better.  many, many events are on the horizon for fall and winter – there are some old favorites and a few new ones that i’m really excited about.

here’s what’s coming up in september:

cloverfall13the one and only clover market kicks it off on september 15th.  don’t worry if you can’t make that one- I’ll be at all FOUR of their shows this season. yes, they have added a chestnut hill location in october- yay!

FRONT-Applehead-2013-2BACK-Applehead-2013-1I’m thrilled to be a part of applehead studios open house this year!  along with three other artists/friends that I admire, i’ll be exhibiting my work for sale the weekend of september 20th.  this is a great relaxed atmosphere and the perfect opportunity to get your holiday shopping started along with a drink and some conversation.

to get the full schedule of shows and to stay up to date on all things joey- make sure you’ve subscribed to my newsletter. I will be sending one out in the next week. I promise no spam or sharing of your email- I only send it out four to five times a year.

hope to see you soon…

art star craft bazaar this weekend!

Posted on

I’ll be one of the 100 vendors this weekend at Penn’s Landing in Philly this weekend for the awesomeness that is the Art Star Craft Bazaar.  This year marks their 10th anniversary- this will be my second year participating in this unique and wonderful event. Here’s how you get there!

Yes, it’s Mother’s Day too, so bring the whole family for music, food, crafts and crafty goodness.  Check out the amazing vendors here.  Hope to see you… now, back to work!

go west craft fest… tomorrow!

hope to see you there!  if it’s called due to rain… sunday’s the day!

winter market tomorrow!

I’m so excited to be participating in Clover Market‘s first wintry offering – ‘Winter Market’ at the 23rd street Armory in Philly.  Yes, it’s tomorrow! Along with Clover’s usual group of fantastically curated sellers and makers there’s also food trucks and a selection of diy workshops.

You can still buy tickets (here) for a discount ($5 gets you 2 for 1), and there’s a second round of earlybird vip entrance (9am) tickets available (here) which includes a gorgeous Greenmarket Purveying candle and free cup of ‘coffee and snap’ from Rival Brothers and Art in the Age– sure to get you going early in the am!  Otherwise, you can pay for admission at the door.

Will I see you tomorrow?

clover market this sunday!

It’s that time again! Clover Market’s October installation is this Sunday, October 14th in Ardmore, PA from 10 – 5. As always, there will be a carefully curated selection of vendors and makers selling vintage and handmade, food and free hands-on crafts for the kids.

I’ll have a nice selection of joeys perfectly suited for fall and for holiday gifts. Look for me in my usual spot, booth #19, on the corner of the third row off of Lancaster Avenue.  You’ll find a complete list of all 100 plus vendors and map here.

Plenty of copper and deerskin suede wrap bracelets will be on hand- they double as a choker as well.

There’s a ‘new’ crop of vintage cluster bracelets too…

I’m bringing a trove of funky cocktail rings- great with any outfit!

As an added bonus, Clover’s doing a giveaway.  One lucky winner will win one of their new oversized totebags AND a super comfy distressed logo t-shirt. Just leave a comment on their FB post with what you’re hunting for at Sunday’s Market AND win an additional entry by sharing their page with your friends. Check it out…

Art Star Craft Bazaar recap

Last weekend was the 9th annual Art Star Craft Bazaar at the Great Plaza on Penns Landing along the Delaware River in Philly.  This was my first show in attendance as well as participation and it lived up to all of my expectations right down to the amazing two days of beautiful weather. Sunday was Mother’s Day, so there were a lot of families in attendance making a day of it. Music, food, amazing handcrafted wares, what nicer way to spend time together?

I was fortunate enough to have the amazing Xina, who helped  me out both days. We figured out that her hair matched my ‘new’ curtains!

Surprisingly, I sold only one ‘mother’ of  my vintage dictionary pendants. People were gravitating toward the more unusual words like ‘enigma’ and ‘gracious’ which was a nice change.

This guy hung out in our booth both days- our lucky mascot.

These friends each bought a vintage multi-chained joey necklace.

I debated over buying this awesome card from Blackheart Letterpress for my Mother-in-Law, but decided to go with one of their safer options.

We had really nice neighbors, Everyday Balloons, who drove all the way from Pittsburgh to sell their cool screen printed products. It was their first Art Star too.

The unifying theme of Sunday was Moms and sisters buying companion joey wraps. There was a lot of spirited debate over who got which one.

Now, a quick scramble to replenish inventory and to prepare for this Saturday’s Trenton Avenue Arts Festival!

Art Star Craft Bazaar tomorrow!

The details:

May 12th & 13th, 11-6pm

It’s here!

Yikes, I’m still working hard to prepare, but here’s a lil glimpse of some of the new joeys that I’ll have with me:
Lots of vintage multi-chained bracelets with joey charms.
Oodles (I like that word) of belt buckles for men and women…
Long vintage strands with joey pendants.
NEW! joeyfivecents pin back buttons! All unique and made with vintage images.
The weather forecast looks amazing! Bring the family and spend Mother’s Day weekend on the waterfront at Penns Landing along the Delaware River.  I’ll be in Booth 75, so be sure to stop in and say hello!  Get there early, goody bags given out to the first 150 shoppers each day…
