a new year greeting…

newyears

reflecting on a wonderful year- so grateful for my little business and everywhere it has taken me. best wishes for 2013…

you know you’re busy when…

your last blog post is from october! oops.

well, it was a fantastically busy fall, and now that we are within the final weeks before christmas, things are even busier.  currently, i’m packing up orders and preparing for my last show of the season/year.

orangebagsthe event is  ‘market at the fareway’, a brand new weekly sunday market in chestnut hill (located behind the historic chestnut hill hotel on germantown ave.) I’ll be there this sunday, december 16th from 11:oo – 4:00.

geometricnaturals2the  site is formerly the old farmers market which is in the middle of a transformation and will feature a different dozen or so handmade and vintage vendors every sunday.  here’s more on what and who you’ll see there.

i’ll have a nice selection of goodies on hand for everyone on your gift list.  if you can’t make it, no worries, there are many ways to shop joey.  you can visit my etsy shop or any of these fine retailers that carry joeyfivecents. in addition, i’ll have things at ‘out of hand’, a pop up shop on 12 race street in frenchtown, nj for the month of december.

hope to see you before the new year!

clover market this sunday!

It’s that time again! Clover Market’s October installation is this Sunday, October 14th in Ardmore, PA from 10 – 5. As always, there will be a carefully curated selection of vendors and makers selling vintage and handmade, food and free hands-on crafts for the kids.

I’ll have a nice selection of joeys perfectly suited for fall and for holiday gifts. Look for me in my usual spot, booth #19, on the corner of the third row off of Lancaster Avenue.  You’ll find a complete list of all 100 plus vendors and map here.

Plenty of copper and deerskin suede wrap bracelets will be on hand- they double as a choker as well.

There’s a ‘new’ crop of vintage cluster bracelets too…

I’m bringing a trove of funky cocktail rings- great with any outfit!

As an added bonus, Clover’s doing a giveaway.  One lucky winner will win one of their new oversized totebags AND a super comfy distressed logo t-shirt. Just leave a comment on their FB post with what you’re hunting for at Sunday’s Market AND win an additional entry by sharing their page with your friends. Check it out…

it’s been busy.

I literally feel like September just began and now October is lurking around the corner.  So much has been going on, but it’s all good. Here’s some of the things I’ve been up to since the beginning of the month:

- participated in the Made in America Festival in Philly.

- designed and distributed my e-newsletter with my fall/winter show schedule.

- had a trunk show at The Little Apple in Manayunk, PA.

- took on a new retailer, oWowCow Creamery in Wrightstown, PA.

- participated in the Outdoor Craft Store in Swarthmore, PA.

- participated in the opening day Clover Market  in Ardmore, PA.

- stocked up joey retailers: Shake the TreeDeconstructed Living, Circa Dee and  Hens Teeth Rare Gifts.

This weekend I’ll be at the first annual Woodbury Fall Arts Fest in where else? Woodbury, NJ.

Look at this layout!  I’ll be in Booth #220 on Railroad Avenue between Wallace and Hopkins) amongst dozens of artisan vendors, musicians, craft beer gardens and so much more.  I’m intrigued by what offerings lie in ‘The Art of Spice’ tent.

Hope to see you this Saturday in Woodbury between 11 – 6.

time for a giveaway…

in honor of the start of school and the waning days of summer, i’m giving away these new joey ‘gold dangly’ earrings!

the earrings: light as a feather long brass drops with vintage bar chain dangle from antiqued gold pendants featuring luminescent vintage ocean images. they will remind you of the beach any season that you wear them. or a rare and mysterious blue stone. you can make up your own story too.

the rules are simple: you must be a facebook follower of joeyfivecents. you can find  my page here. if you’re already a follower than you’re good with step one. next, leave a comment (under the giveaway post on the facebook page) about what you’re looking forward to with the coming of fall – anything in particular. the changing of the leaves.  the kids back in school. or maybe there’s nothing you look forward to. that’s okay too.

a winner will be picked at random this friday (9/7) at noon, but remember to leave a comment on facebook to be in the running.

thanks and good luck!

keep in touch…

It’s exciting that September is just a few days away because with that comes so many of my favorite things including changing leaves and cozy cardigans. It’s my absolute favorite season. It’s also the start of the holiday shows believe it or not, and I’ve been putting together an amazing Fall and Winter schedule that you won’t want to miss.

The best way to have the most comprehensive schedule of my events is to subscribe to my e-newsletter. I only send one out about four or five a year and never share your email or spam your inbox.

Of course, there’s always new shows and last minute additions such as this weekend’s Made in America Festival in Philly which I just found out I’d be doing on Monday! The festival spans September 1st and 2nd: 28 performances, 3 Stages, 1 Weekend, curated and headlined by Jay Z. ‘Nuff said.

I’ll be in the ‘Made in Philly’ section next to the Park Stage with other local artisans. Check their website for ticket info and artist schedules.

You can usually find updates and new product info, etc. on my facebook page or twitter feed. Follow me or check them periodically if social media is your preference.

Finally, there’s also the ‘events’ tab at the top of this blog which gets updated periodically as well.

I am thrilled to be kickin’ off September with a trunk show at The Little Apple in Manayunk in conjunction with their First Friday celebrations. Molly has carried joeyfivecents in her store for some time and last week I stocked up the store with all sorts of new joeys for fall including my newest products, earrings and thin gold bangle clusters.

Stop by the store on Friday eve, September 7th for a glass of wine and some light snacks. I’ll bring an additional selection of joeys including belt buckles and multi-chain necklaces for sale that evening starting at 5:00 pm. The Little Apple is at 4353 Main Street in Manayunk, PA. Hope to see you at there or at one (or more) of my events this fall!

Watch your in box for the newsletter coming out soon…

check out my new website!

Well, my new interim website. I couldn’t be more thrilled with the work that James from En over En Publishing and Design Services did to update my much neglected web page.  Sometime during the fall we will expand to the full site, but until then, this works just fine.  It perfectly captures the kitsch, sass and design of joeyfivecents- I love it!

Check it out and let me know what you think…
